Meet the team

Communication is the craft. Family is the reason.

Families don't drift apart on purpose. They scatter across cities and time zones, and the closeness that was once automatic starts to take work. Keeping people in step is the whole job — and it's the one we chose.

Dylan Tranel

Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Dylan grew up one of seven kids on a farm in rural Wisconsin, where the day started early and nobody had to be told what needed doing. Keeping a big family in step wasn't an idea there — it was the practice that made the morning work.

He studied engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and spent the years after it inside engineering companies, learning that the systems people trust are rarely the clever ones. They're the ones that stay in order.

The key to any process is organization.

That's the belief Bramble is built on. When his family scattered across cities and time zones, the closeness stayed but the coordination fell apart — so he built the farmhouse table again for families who no longer share a kitchen. He owns the architecture, the privacy model, and everything under the hood.

He is also the proud owner of Georgie, a mini schnauzer from the farm he grew up on — a pup who made the move to the big city right alongside him. The two of them take the long walks through Chicago where most of the good decisions get made. Georgie handles security, and has never once let anything past the door.

Matt Williams

Chief Design Officer

Matt learned design the long way around. He was working as a pharmacist and living in a Brooklyn apartment full of artists and architects, and the arguing that went on there — why a thing looks the way it looks, why some rooms make you want to stay — got him designing. He never stopped.

His family is spread wide and stubbornly close. Parents in Madison, a sister in Raleigh, a brother in Denver, and another in The Gambia on his way to Japan. Holding that together is a matter of small, unglamorous logistics, and Matt has spent enough years doing it to know exactly what Bramble has to get right.

The details nobody notices are the ones that make a product worth keeping.

So he shapes how Bramble feels to use — the interface, the flows, the type and layout, and the quiet details that decide whether a private place is worth returning to. Every screen starts as a question about the people on the other side of it: what they came here to do, and how little we can put in their way. He left the pharmacy to build it, and it travels with him — every new city he lands in is another test of whether it really keeps people close from a long way off.
